The Sofia history museum is one of the newest museums in Sofia (it opened in 2015) and it's a great place to start your tour of Sofia if you visit the city for the first time. It will help you understand better how the city was created and how it evolved during the centuries - Sofia is one of the oldest capitals in Europe with the first settlements being discovered in its territory dating back to 5000 BC.
The museum itself is situated in the building of the former central mineral bath, which was recently restored to become this amazing museum. In it you'll find different rooms covering different periods like antiquity and modern times, Sofia's streets and clothing, homes and others.
